Best hotel in Crete Hotel Idi is such a wonderful place to holiday and a fantastic base for the south coast. The hotel is immaculate with amazing gardens and a sense of calm. The staff are all super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are really comfortable and immaculate. They’re cleaned every day. The breakfast is plentiful with every option you can think of. The restaurant is also really impressive- a lot of variety. We’ve never had a bad meal (this is our third year) you get the opportunity to meet with tourists from many other countries. I really can’t recommend Idi enough. It’s great for a few weeks or a few days. We come with our 9 year old son who loves the pool and the freedom. If you’re looking for somewhere with beautiful scenery and away from the crowds, with a very chilled atmosphere - you will not be disappointed. It’s a real hidden gem! More - 25/08/2019

Piacevole soggiorno Camera pulita, con frigo e aria condizionata, intima, ma con un bellissimo e ampio balcone con tavolino e sedie, ho potuto fare yoga tutte le mattine in balcone contornata da bellissimi fiori rosa. Bagno tenuto bene, piccolo ma con doccia grande, anche per 2.
COLAZIONE spettacolare: ogni giorno fatta in casa dalla proprietaria e servita al tavolo, ogni giorno diversa e sempre ottima, con scelta di bevanda calda, più il succo, frutta, pane tostato e marmellate e con tutto il necessario per alzarsi pieni. Dolci/cibi tradizionali.

Highly recommandable We stayed in the hotel for two nights. We had a nice and cosy room with a balcony and seaview. Very close to the sea and to the center with a lot of good restaurants.
Family owned. The people are very friendly.
Great breakfast with local specialities.

😀 - Wat een leuke accommodatie is dit. Centraal gelegen in Agia Galini. Alles op loopafstand. Auto kan voor de deur geparkeerd worden. Kamers zijn ruim. Wij hadden de familiekamer en onze kinderen hadden normale bedden. Kamers worden iedere dag schoon gemaakt. Wat ze heerlijk vonden liggen. Het speciale van deze accommodatie is toch wel de gastvrouw die iedere dag een heerlijk afwisselend ontbijt serveert met eigen streekproducten. We hebben genoten. Tip; ga ook naar het plaatsje Matala ( 40 min rijden leuk hippie dorp met heerlijk strand). 😞 - niks - 31/07/2025 

Like Family Although this is not a high end luxurious hotel, the hospitality is the ultimate luxury.
Been going to Agia Galini since 1985 and have found Hotel Idi to be my home away from home (with better weather). I can't say enough good things about the hotel, which continues to get better each year, and the transcendent hospitality shared by the owners Jasmine and Demetri. They are the embodiment of the best of Greek hospitality. And, they are enthusiastic being hospitable. They moved all our belongings when we moved to a different room, shared recipes (cheese and crepe), provided wonderful breakfasts, and even got us a good deal on a taxi to the airport.
Five times I have stayed at Hotel Idi. I cannot think of considering another hotel in Agia Galini. My girlfriend would agree, and it was her first time there. More - 31/07/2013

Superb 😀 - Wir wurden sehr herzlich von den Gastgebern empfangen. Die Lage ist super, dicht zum Strand und zum Hafen. Parken kann man direkt vor der Unterkunft. Sollte kein Parkplatz verfügbar sein, ist das auch kein Problem. Der Gastgeber kümmert sich um einen dichten Parkplatz. Das Zimmer bietet genug Platz für zwei Personen. Das Bad ist klein, aber sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet. Der Balkon ist auch recht geräumig. Eine kleine, an der Wand befestigte Wäscheleine ist ebenso vorhanden. Im zweiten Stockwerk befindet sich eine kleine Gemeinschaftsküche mit Wasserkocher, einer kleinen Herdplatte und Geschirr. Am besten ist natürlich das täglich frisch zubereitete Frühstück von der Gastgeberin. Alles selbst gebacken. Ein Traum. Serviert wird dies im kleinen Vorgarten. Sie hat auch sehr gute Tipps was Essen gehen und Ausflüge angeht. Auch konnte sie uns mit Sonnenschirmen aushelfen für die Tage, die wir dort unterwegs waren. Generell ist Agia Galini ein super Ausgangspunkt um umliegende Strände und Sehenswertes zu besuchen (Preveli oder Matala). Wir kommen gerne wieder! 😞 - None - 27/06/2023 

Klein & gezellig Gezellige b&b met smorgens een lekker ontbijtje waar je zeker genoeg mee hebt. Het ontbijt wisseld elke dag waardoor er veel variatie is. Heel vriendelijke mensen die de b&b uitbaten. Vlak buiten het drukke centrum - 18/09/2020

Rodinný hotel v Agia Galini 😀 - Skvělé snídaně, každý den jiné a servírované ve velmi pěkném a příjemném prostředí. Hotel Idi má jako jeden z mála domů v Agia Galini předzahrádku se stromy, každý pokoj má malou lodžii se stolkem a židlemi, kde je příjemné posezení. Jde o rodinný podnik a tomu odpovídá i absolutní čistota, péče a přátelský přístup majitelů. Na městskou pláž je to pěšky asi 5 minut (schodištěm mezi domy), do centra a přístavu asi 10 minut. Ve vedlejším domě je malý obchod, kde vaří i výbornou kávu. Další větší a lépe zásobený supermarket je vzdálený zhruba 50 m. V hotelu je k dispozici i společná kuchyňka s vařičem a varnou konvicí. Bezplatné parkování je možné v bezprostřední blízkosti hotelu. WiFi v pokoji funguje dobře, každé patro (5-6 pokojů) má vlastní SSID. 😞 - Dům je třípatrový bez výtahu, což může být pro osoby s omezenou pohyblivostí problém. Klimatizace v pokoji byla poměrně hlučná. - 21/09/2025 

Mitten im Dorf und trotzdem ruhig. Unkompliziert und zuvorkommend. Sehr liebenswertes Gastgeberpaar, wir haben uns sehr gut mit ihnen verstanden und geplaudert.
Das Frühstück war liebevoll zubereitet, jeden Tag selbst gebackenes Brot und jeden Tag andere schmackhafte Beilagen und Früchte dazu. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gepflegt. Alles super!

Wir hatten einen super Urlaub und werden es weiter empfehlen! Es ist ein kleines sehr gemütliches Familien geführtes Hotel! Jeden gab es ein kleines extra beim Frühstück-kuchen, Eierkuchen mit Joghurt,Blätterteig mit Käse,jeden Tag immer dazu Obst.Ausserdem konnte man zusätzlich Eier, Wurst und Käse bestellen. Es fehlte an nichts! Die Zimmer wurden täglich gesäubert, es war ein Kühlschrank im Zimmer und es gab eine kleine Küche im Haus,die jeder hätte nutzen können!

I'd rather you stay away from Agia Galini, but ... If you insist on going and spoiling the bucolic splendor of the area, Hotel Idi is the place to stay. A small hotel with perhaps a dozen rooms, the place is simple but very clean, very comfortable, has reliable internet, and awesome, delicious, breakfasts that vary daily. The owners - like everyone we met on Crete - are warm and inviting. - 03/06/2016
